The Sage James Creative Experience
running a small business and chasing after a tiny human is kinda my life these days!
when i'm not working with clients, I am spending time with my almost 3 year old son, grabbing coffee with my entreprenuer besties for a co-work session or getting together with my mom friends for a playdate, I also love a good thrift session or trip to target (yes, im that girl) and I also love vacationing to the thousand islands with my husband and son for the summer. In my limited downtime (toddler parent ikyk) I have been known to binge a season or two for Love is Blind, enjoy a hot tub session or go on a hot mom walk.
a few passions of mine outside of the creative work I do is advocating for and raising awareness around maternal mental health, empowering and supporting women-owned small businesses, providing support for new / newly postpartum moms as well as blogging on social media about the real and raw of being a business owner, wife, and mama.
how did i end up in the design industry?
My journey to becoming a small business owner, designer, and strategist has been quite the adventure. From administrative jobs to the food service industry and a five-year stint in multi-level marketing (MLM), each role taught me valuable lessons. Yet, deep down, I was always searching for something more—something that truly felt like my own.
Working for someone else's dream had its moments, but I felt something was missing. That changed with an MLM company that highlighted the importance of social media and digital marketing strategies. Crafting content for my personal brand and diving into social media nuances lit me up inside.
By 2019, I was ready to leap. I left the traditional 9-to-5 and embraced freelancing, despite not having a website, logo, or business name. What I had was a passion for sharing my skills and helping others shine online, find their niche, and build authentic brands.
Fast forward four years, through a global pandemic, and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. Working with incredible small business owners to help them find their voice and boost their confidence in their online presence has been a blessing. Sage James Creative is more than just a business—it's a heart project, a testament to the magic of pursuing our passions and supporting each other's dreams.
Combining expertise with a down-to-earth vibe, I balance professional design with a relatable approach that allows me to step into your shoes and treat your business as if it was my own, especially as a small business owner and entrepreneur myself.
